Here Are The 2023 GNCBL League Champions!

The Lightning are this year's League Champs. They completed their task by defeating the NorEasters in Game #2 Tuesday night by a score of 4-2. Gavin Baillargeon and Josh Kopetski did all they needed to on the mound and some timely hitting from Campbell Cassidy and Henry Lausier brought home the Crown for the Lightning. Congratulations to those guys and all the best as they move forward in their college baseball careers!

2022 GNCBL All Star/ Benefit Game

A Huge Thank You !! To all of those who attended and/or donated to make this event a success. Because of your generosity we were able to present the Maine Cancer Foundation with a check in the amount of $2000 and I know that they were excited to have us partner with them. They do such great work and any help that they can get goes toward helping families "fighting the fight". We are already putting plans together to make an even bigger contribution next year.
Special thanks to the SMMBL for helping make this a possibility. We would also like to thank USM and the Western Me. Umpires who donated their time and facilities. Below are a few pics from the evening!

5/30-6/11. Our first Player of the Week for the 2023 Season was an easy choice! The WindJamme
Landon Schwartzman has been on a tear at the plate. The Skidmore MIF raked a .500 BA going 8/16, while tallying (3) doubles, (2) HR, (9) RBI, and (5) R! Quite an achievement, especially this early in the season. Can't wait to see what the rest of the year holds....Landon is our unanimous choice this week. Congrats!

Pitcher Of the Week:
There have also been some really good outings on the bump. As the League hits its' stride and everyone gets in prime playing form, the pitching is ramping up. That said it was a bit tougher decision to pick the "ace" of the week this time around. But one guy reached back for a little bit more, and that was Colin McDonald of the NorEasters. He was able to rack up (2) W's and a Save against no losses all while allowing (0) earned runs! Over the span he gave up just (6) Hits and recorded (12) K's on the way to a 1.71 ERA. Great work Colin, keep it up!
